Some of our ongoing operational initiatives to minimize our overall environmental footprint include:
Using 80-100% recycled paper (toilet/ print) whenever possible and to the highest level of recyclable factor
Rechargeable batteries as the norm
All our business light bulbs are low energy consumption green globes
Our trial (now into it´s third year) of Bio-desiel is has been a great success. We were the first tour operator in this area to run vehicles with bio-fuel recycled from cooking oils from the Port Douglas and Mossman region.
The use of re-usable Nalgine water bottles and re-usable camelbak hydration systems
We are members of various green groups and EPA recognised water sample collectors
Initiatives including setting up a river watch network which has been successful in communicating with local property owners along the World Heritage Mossman River in order to monitor the environment and discussing appropriate practices
We provide advice to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and Queensland Parks and Wildlife via the GBRMP Advisory Committee which we are a member.
Re-use of bicycle inner tubes which are recycled into kayak tie downs
Always cleaning up an area of any rubbish at activity or program site
The use of vinal printing (not harmful paints) for vehicle logos
